Being deeply influenced by this trend of becoming successful, people are willing to take risks to fuel their success, and living life on its edge seems to have been promoted as a must in both personal and professional parts of our lives. Although taking risks may cause some problems for the risk-takers, I believe the positive points it offers are more beneficial
First of all, I need to point out that there is a clear-cut relationship between risk-taking and innovation. In fact, history is full of people who were creative enough and had enough courage to take the risk in order to find a new way to do a repeated activity, which helped them come up with some new ideas that changed the world. A case in point is the late Steve Jobs, who captured fame by creating the most innovative computers and mobile phones, products that faced rejection by producers as they were different from their rivals
Furthermore, the more risks we take, the more experienced we become. As a matter of fact, people who take risks experience more ups and downs in their lives, and as a result, they know how to react when they face difficulties. For example, Jeff Bezos, the owner of Amazon, failed several times before turning his unknown book-selling website into the biggest and most famous online shop in the world; definitely, had it not been for his failures, we would not know him now as one of the richest self-made billionaires in the world
On the other hand, risk-takers may not be lucky all the time. They may take uncalculated risks, which puts them in danger of losing their wealth or running out of business. For instance, a lot of footballers invest a lot of money in risky products, such as new brands, with the hope of gaining more money, but not all of them get what they wanted. In addition, risk-takers are not normally trusted by others when it comes to making rational decisions or finding a solution to a problem. Since risk-takers do not consider paying attention to the far-reaching consequences of their actions, they are not usually known to be trustworthy advisors. Consider a divorce case; when a married couple reaches a point where they find themselves on the verge of getting divorced, not only do they consult a patient person, but they also stay away from risk-takers
To sum up, taking risks can provide some positive aspects in our lives, such as getting experienced; however, it also touches our lives negatively, like losing our assets. Taking everything in account, I believe the advantages of taking necessary risks outweigh its disadvantages
